Welcome to our web site!

Welcome to the Stephens Museum of Modern Transportation (SMMT)web site.

The SMMT  is a non-traditional museum , covering transportation modes and methods from the early 1900’s to the present. The emphasis is on road transportation, but  other modes, such as air and water are also considered.

The Automotive Section represents trends in automobiles from the 1920’s through 2009. The autos may be pure originals, pure hotrods, or a combination. A car may look pure stock from the outside/inside, but under the skin it may be completely updated to the latest technology.  Our cars represent all states of preservation and renovation.  Some are complete museum pieces, some are daily drivers, some are show cars, and some are in process of restoration, rectification (a combination of restoration /modification) or pure performance modification.

Our Motorcycle Section presents modern motorcycles (post 1950) with emphasis on touring. Old school period motorcycles are also represented. Our motorcycle collection will grow as we identify candidates for display.

The Boat and Watercraft section has boats used for fishing, cruising, sailing and personal  watercraft  (Jet Ski’s).

Foretravel  Motor homes are presented in the RV Section.

Memorabilia is presented In the form of Hot Wheels and other models, posters, photos and other print media including many magazines and auto service manuals.

Once again, or museum is a non-traditional museum. We are constantly acquiring and changing vehicles used in the displays. You will see vehicles waiting in line for work, in work restorations, in work modifications, and completed vehicles. We are always looking for interesting display items, and will accept interesting vehicles for display from private owners who don’t want to pay for covered storage

Come and enjoy or collection.
